NIST-aligned resilience: how to fortify healthcare cyber security

18 October 2023 11:00 - 16:30

Between 2022 and 2023, the global healthcare sector saw over 11 million ransomware attempts and over 271 million intrusion attacks.

Ransomware cyber attacks have risen by 112% in the UK over the past year where connected medical devices remain one of the top targets for attackers. In fact, one in five hospitals admitted they use spreadsheets to manually track each medical device added to their networks, while almost one in six devices on hospital networks are not monitored for cyber security risks at all.

VMware recently authored a paper on securing connected medical devices in conjunction with NHS England, using an approach that aligns with the full NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) Cyber Framework. We’re bringing this paper to life by inviting you to an interactive and informative hands-on event delivered by Phoenix and VMware. This event will focus on leveraging VMware’s Network and Security portfolio including Aria Operations for Networks and NSX to strengthen cyber security capabilities in healthcare organisations.

Join us on Wednesday 18th October at HOST in Salford as we demonstrate how these technologies align across the entire NIST Cyber Framework – as well as the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and NCSC CAF guidance – to enhance security, compliance, and disaster recovery readiness.

What will you be doing on the day?

  • Security journey interactive whiteboarding session
  • Discovery and visibility – overview and demonstration
  • NSX distributed firewall and advance threat prevention
  • Afternoon labs, technical deep dives, and NSX assessment
